Combined Pool B-day Party

This year we decided to do something a little different for the kids' birthday parties.  Haylee, Cameron, and Landon wanted a pool party but with Cameron and Landon's birthday at the end of March/beginning of April and with Haylee's in October, those are not good times of the year to have a pool party.  For this reason and also to help alleviate time and stress that goes into planning these parties for all of our children, we decided to have a combined birthday party for all three of them in July, which is a perfect time for a day at the pool and also in the middle of when their birthdays occur.

We held the b-day party this past Saturday at Forest Park Pool where our family has a membership and the kids are on the swim team.  And for the party we did everything in 3's for our 3 children:  3 cakes, 3 pinatas, 3 tables of gifts, and 3 times the fun.  Besides swimming in the pool, we had a place setup to play soccer and throw frisbees, a small bounce-house we borrowed from a friend, a cookie decorating station, and a hot dog bar.  We did find out, however, that on a nice, hot summer day, that nothing else could compete with playing in the pool.  For the last portion of the party we did pinatas and then had cake.  Haylee had a butterfly pinata, Cameron had a hulk (we converted a weird-green-pants-shirtless-golden-mask-with-a-cross-on-his-forehead superhero into a hulk with some extra green tissue paper and black angel hair yarn), and Landon had a spiderman one.

Doing one party for all 3 children made for a pretty busy day and managing 28 children was eventful to say the least, but it was a lot of fun for all, and Eve and I appreciate only having to do a friends' birthday once for the year instead of at 3 different times (we still have a small family birthday celebration for each of the kids on their actual birthdays).
