Fun with Lashings
Yesterday I had a Scouting activity with my 11 yr old Scouts (I only have two right now in my patrol) where we went to the park and made a pioneering project with lashings and sticks. The boys decided to make a drawbridge, complete with a working bridge that lowers!
I really enjoy doing Scout activities that the boys get excited about. Although it can be a time consuming calling, I find that the better my attitude is and the more time I'm willing to put into making it more fun for the boys, then the more fun I have planning and doing the meetings and activities. It makes it really worth it when it's obvious the boys are having fun.
