Tonight was an exciting one for Pixar as 'Up' took home two academy awards of the five it was nominated for, including 'Best Animated Feature'. It was nominated for Best Animated Feature, Best Original Screenplay, Best Original Score, Best Sound Editing, and Best Picture, the first time a Pixar film has ever been nominated for Best Picture, and only the second time in history an animated film has been nominated for both Best Picture and Best Animated Feature ('Beauty and the Beast' being the first). Besides Best Animated Feature, Up's other oscar win was Best Original Score.
And since Mom specifically wanted to know, I'll mention that 'The Hurt Locker' won the Best Picture award. I haven't seen this film yet, but am interested in seeing it since Lance is in the army and this movie is about soldiers and the Iraqi war.
