Gymnastics B-day Party

Cameron turns 5 this Thursday, and so this last Saturday we celebrated his birthday with a gymnastics b-day party. Haylee and Cameron have attended gymnastics lessons since last summer, and they really enjoy it. So we thought it would be fun for Cameron to have a party where he and his friends could do some of the things he's been doing at his gymnastics lessons. East Bay Sports Academy, where they take their lessons, does b-day parties where certified instructors lead the kids in doing an obstacle course, trampolines, foam pit, etc. and set up a room to eat and open gifts. Cameron had a real fun time showing his friends something that he really likes to do. (And Landon actually got to go out and play on the equipment, which was a super exciting bonus for him since he's usually not allowed out there during the regular practices!)

And for Eve and I, it was *so* much easier planning-wise than last year when we did the monster party for Cameron in our backyard. And we feel very blessed that we had decided to do a party away from our house, considering what has happened with the sewage backup and all. Staying at a hotel for a few weeks has really messed with our schedules, and it was so nice to just be able to continue with the party plans we had already made with only minor adjustments (like having to buy a cake instead of making one ourselves).

To round out the day, we had dinner at Rubio's (fresh Mexican grill), went swimming at the hotel pool and hot tub, and then watched some Avatar cartoon episodes (our family is now hooked on it).
